EQUILIBRIUM is looking for a Junior Structural BIM Technician / Technologist to join our BIM and Digital Delivery team in Vancouver.

EQUILIBRIUM is an award-winning mid-sized consulting Structural Engineering firm working on a diverse range of ambitious projects both locally and internationally. EQUILIBRIUM was founded in Vancouver in 1998 with a focus on progressive and innovative building projects, sustainability-oriented construction, and particularly projects utilizing timber construction.

Headquartered in Vancouver, BC, with offices in France and the USA, our team works with clients both locally and internationally, to engage community and push the boundaries of conscious and sustainable structural design.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

As a result of landing some exciting new projects, we are looking for a curious and ambitious early-career Structural BIM Technician / Technologist to join our team at our Vancouver office.

WHAT YOU’LL GET UP TO

– Contribute to innovative, architecturally driven, and award-winning projects across North America and internationally.
– Produce structural BIM models (LOD 300+) and construction documents using Revit.
– Translate engineers’ concepts, sketches, and designs into clear models and drawings with regular guidance from experienced team members.
– Maintain clean, organized, and easy-to-navigate Revit models, drawing packages, and project files in accordance with company BIM standards.
– Work closely with engineers and BIM team members, and support coordination with architects, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
– Develop a practical understanding of structural systems, drawing conventions, and project delivery through hands-on project work and continuous learning.
– Take ownership of assigned tasks, seek feedback, and build the technical capability and independence needed to progress within the BIM career path.

REQUIREMENTS

– Diploma or Certificate in Civil/Structural Drafting, Architectural Technology, Building Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
– Located in Vancouver or willing to relocate.
– Valid work status in Canada.
– 0-2+ years of professional experience in a similar role. Recent graduates with relevant academic Revit experience are encouraged to apply.
– Basic experience with Revit and AutoCAD through academic work, internships, or early professional practice.
– Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and Windows. Experience with Bluebeam is an asset, we offer training in these tools.
– Basic understanding of timber, steel, concrete, and hybrid construction systems is an asset.
– Ability to follow established BIM standards, drawing organization, and file-management procedures while working effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
