Gitxsan West Secondary School

The new Gitxsan West Secondary School, is built in the First Nation community of Gitwangak by the Gitxsan West Group, which represents the communities of Gitanyow, Gitwangak and Gitsegukla. The Secondary School facility accommodates 170 – 190 students and features classrooms, cultural learning spaces and a large gymnasium.

The school uses a hybrid light frame and mass timber structure which maximises efficiency and minimizes costs, while also allowing the use of local labour and resources.
